In order to serve you better, and more efficiently, we've compiled a list of Frequently Asked Questions:

Q:  What areas does Star Transport serve?
A:   Anywhere in Quebec and Ontario.  Click here for a more detailed list of areas we serve.

Q:  What types of hazardous materials do you handle?
A:  We handle all classes.

Q:  What are your rates?
A:  While we'd like to post exact rates for our customers, there's just too many variables in the container trucking business to do that accurately.  Things like: pickup and drop location, time of day, size and weight of the container, number of containers, type of chassis required, etc... all contribute to the cost of transportation.  To obtain a quote please click here.

Q:  What is the maximum weight you can handle for a 20' or 40' container?
A:  It depends on the season, the destination of your cargo and the mode of transport.  E.G.:  Weight limits for rail shipping within Canada are slightly different from those in the US or overseas.  Seasonal road weight restrictions for container trucking apply in parts of Canada and the US during spring thaw and similar conditions may apply overseas depending on the Country you're shipping to.  Steamship lines also have their own requirements.

Q:  What does FTL mean?
A:  It's an abbreviation for Full Truck Load

Q:  What does ERD stand for?
A:   It stands for "earliest return date".

Q:  What does LRD stand for?
A:   It stands for "latest return date".

Q:  What does P&D stand for?
A:   It stands for "pick up and drop".

Q:  What does "live load" mean?
A:   It means a truck driver waits while the container is being loaded instead of dropping container and returning later to pick-up.

Q:  What is a tridem chassis?
A:  It's an extendable "gooseneck" tri-axle chassis capable of handling 40', 45', 48' or 53' containers
